Terms of use

Copyright and use of the website

CulturaItalia is a portal promoted and managed by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism (MiBACT). The domain name, logo, graphics and icons are exclusive property of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism (MiBACT) and are protected under Italian and international copyright laws: therefore, they cannot be, whether in whole or in part, reproduced, distributed, sold, transferred, or modified.

CulturaItalia manages and publishes two types of contents:

  • Editorial or journalistic content, to which the Creative Commons attribution, non-commercial license applies.

  • Descriptive information on the cultural resources (hereafter metadata) whose rights of ownership are reserved by the content providers, who participate in CulturaItalia. The metadata, gathered into CulturaItalia s repository by means of the OAI-PMH protocol and published in the Index, are regulated by the CulturaItalia License based on the Creative Commons License "Attribution - Non Commercial 2.5" and "CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication". Metadata provided by Alinari and Touring Club are not subject to conditions of use from the two Creative Commons licenses: the possibility of downloading or printing a copy of the material contained in the website is granted for personal use or for non-financial purposes. The user is required to save all directions regarding on trademarks and copyright contained in the downloaded or copied materials.

 

Limitations of Responsibility

Under no circumstances shall CulturaItalia be held responsible for damages of any nature arising directly or indirectly from access to the site, from use of the interactive instruments, from the inability or impossibility of accessing the site, from use of news contained within. Quotes from reviews or news items are allowed if the source CulturaItalia and the URL www.culturaitalia.it are cited.

CulturaItalia reserves the right to reproduce the texts in other publications.

 

User responsibility

The user must agree to the present Terms of Use and assume any responsibility related to the use of the website. The registered user is required to insert only his/her own personal data and guarantees that these are true, correct, and up-to-date. The user assumes full responsibility for any use of the site on his/her behalf, or by whoever uses his/her personal data.

 

Modifications to the Terms of Use

CulturaItalia reserves the right to modify the present Terms of Use at any time. Any modifications will be communicated on the website. Users will then use the website according to the the modified version of the Terms of Use, while retaining the right of exit at all times.

 

Access to linked external websites

CulturaItalia highlights external sites or uses its own online services to support the access to external sites. The sites highlighted by any means or in any manner by CulturaItalia have been developed by entities over which CulturaItalia has no control.

CulturaItalia has no responsibility whatsoever in terms of the sites linked from within its own website.

CulturaItalia is not responsible for the information obtained by the user through access to other sites via hyperlinks. Therefore the integrity and accuracy of the information are to be considered the responsibility of the site owners, sites which one accesses based on the conditions determined by the same.

 

Limits on use

CulturaItalia reserves the right to refuse access to its own online services to certain users or groups of users, even while still registered, at any time, without any warning and without any responsibility in terms of users or third parties.

 

Privacy policy

CulturaItalia does not use cookies and does not acquire identifying information on the user, unless the user himself voluntarily provides such data, in the form of personal information.

CulturaItalia s online services might require an identifier, which will be utilised by the system to provide personalised responses. It is possible to de-activate one s own identifier, with a consequent cancellation of the personal information provided.

CulturaItalia agrees not to provide personal data to third parties, without explicit authorisation on the part of the legitimate owners of said data. CulturaItalia might be required to provide personal data in case of legal provisions, mandates or court sentencings. In all other cases, personal information will be handled in accordance with privacy laws in effect in Italy.

By using the online services of CulturaItalia, the user consents to the acquisition and utilisation of his/her own personal data by the system where necessary and as indicated in the present Terms of Use. CulturaItalia may decide to modify its privacy policy without warning.

It is possible to download the Data Provider Form, for free from CulturaItalia. This software is provided with GPL license for compatibilty via OAI-PMH with CulturaItalia.

 

Reporting errors

Users are invited to report any errors or malfunction, whether in the informational pages or in the interactive services, by sending an email to culturaitalia.webmaster@beniculturali.it.
