The National Museum of Medieval and Modern art of Basilicata is located in palazzo Lanfranchi, an ancient seminary built during the second half of the 17th century next to Caveoso Sasso. On the first floor there are three sections:
-sacred art, with masterpieces coming from churces in the region.
-collection of Camillo d’Errico from Palazzo San Gervasio (17th-18th century)
-contemporary art, with artworks of Carlo Levi (Turin 1902- Rome 1975) and Luigi Guerricchio (Matera 1936-1996)
