Established in 1971 on the ground floor and basement of the sixteenth-century building Palazzo d’Avalos, the Museum was inaugurated in 1981 and is divided into five sections. On the ground floor the modern times discoveries are allocated, while those of the modern era, medieval, Roman and pre-Roman times, are located in the basement.
