Detail of the frescoes of the twelve months with their relative town and country activities, in the Torre dell'Aquila of the Castello del Buon Consiglio in Trento, Italy. The cycle, commissioned by Giorgio di Liechtenstein is attributed to the Bohemian Venceslao, court painter of the patron. The detail shows the month of May with its zodiac sign of Gemini as expressed in the inscription 'Sol in Gemini' at the sides of the relief of the sun, above. On the left, above, the fresco depicts a towered city surrounded by walls. Clearly to be seen is the church. Outside the city four persons are banqueting in the open near a fountain. Below on a flowering meadow a few young couples are walking and conversing
